Venue : Twyford School

Date : 3rd July 2016

Samuel H led the troops into battle for this enticing encounter with Easton and MW. Josh also making his debut.

Easton won the toss and decided to field first. Easton started really well and had a couple of really good bowlers opening up. Regular wickets and very tight bowling kept Twyford behind the gain line throughout their innings. A small flourish towards the end of the innings saw Twyford reach 266. Mentions to Samuel, Tom and Rohan for hitting boundaries against a very accurate bowling attack. Samuel and Ollie getting the highest partnership of 31. Still a few things to work on with batting and running between wickets but credit must go to Easton for a very good all-round bowling performance.

The innings break again seeing the players rushing to the half time snacks and treats awaiting them, again another amazing feast was presented! Big thanks to all those who provided.

After the break Twyford took the field full of energy and enthusiasm. Rohan started up as usual and bowled accurately without early success. The Easton pairs were consistently accomplished and scored freely, aided by a few overthrows by the Twyford fielders (something to work again at training). Twyford bowling was again accurate (we bowled less extras than Easton). Samuel led from the front with a great direct hit run out and also took a great diving catch, which at this stage looks like catch of the season. Mentions to Tom and Rohan for picking up wickets and also to Dan for getting a Run Out. We were brave in the field and never gave up but at the end of the day we were too many runs short and  also outplayed by a better team on the day. Well played Easton.

Next up is Fair Oak, who are also a very good team. Challenge accepted.

Twyford 266 for 5

Easton 312 for 4
Tom 1/6
Rohan 1/9
