Back to winnings ways for Twyford U9`s.

A big game was on the cards against IBM Hursley, a team who are historically very strong. There was a buzz in the Twyford warm up, everyone looking sharp with their catches and of course their new Twyford Cricket Club caps.

IBM Hursley won the toss and elected to field. The Twyford opening pair of Sam and Oscar strode to the crease to get proceedings under way and got Twyford off to a solid start with a 30 run opening partnership. Our running between wickets and calling this week was much improved and as such we established some very good partnerships, 34 from Tom and Rohan and 32 from Jacob and Conor. The IBM Hursley bowlers bowled with great accuracy but Twyford stuck to their task and finished on a very respectable 292 for 7. Jacob Nash again top scoring with 20 including another brutal six over square leg.

Onto the break and another fine spread by the Twyford parents – big thanks. I think word is getting around that Twyford is the place to play for fine dining.

Twyford knew they had to field well and bowl with great accuracy to defend their score against a very good IBM team and they did not disappoint. The fielding again was exceptional and also had great composure which led to 3 run outs. Rohan, Oscar and Conor all getting run outs. Another brilliant catch for Samuel. Tom and Jacob also pulling off some great diving stops on the boundary. IBM were consistently ahead of the game until Dan Goddard`s game changing over where he picked up two wickets, both bowled middle stump. Twyford then got their noses in front and fought hard to maintain the ascendancy spurred on by the vocal Twyford parents again. It all came down the last over. 10 required. IBM had a very strong batsman in. Rohan to bowl. Wicket ! Twyford in front again. Rohan closed the over out with two dot balls to ensure a 12 run victory ! What a team performance ! As mentioned the fielding was exceptional again and the composure on the ball was superb. We now look forward to Ropley who again I think will be a very challenging game.

TWYFORD : 292 for 7
Jacob Nash 20

IBM Hurlsey : 280 for 8
Dan Goddard 2/5
Rohan Handa 2/11
